My paintings are informed by the world around me. Initial inspiration tends to come from nature, and through the process of layering paint, I become deeply reflective of my internal world. Shapes and colours may represent a time, space, memory, and/or perception. The pieces become a culmination of the ground beneath us, the living systems that hold us, and human experience.
Heather Good was born and raised in Ontario, Canada and graduated with an Honours Associate Degree from the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto. She has since continued her studies in Florence, Italy, and had her work exhibited on both the Canadian and international stage. Heather now works and lives in Nelson, British Columbia, and maintains her creative practice through drawing, painting, and mixed media artworks.
